ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENTS
Internationally acclaimed young Chinese pianist Moye Chen, a recording artist contracted by music DG, has been widely praised internationally. His interpretation of Rachmaninov’s third piano concerto with the Cincinnati symphony orchestra was described by the Cincinnati enquirer as "a rare interpretation: a perfect combination of impeccable technique and artistry”; his recital at Carnegie Hall in 2015 was praised by the media as “majestic and lyrical”; the Gramophone said its rendition of Rachmaninov’s second piano sonata was "extraordinarily artistically controlled and fantastical".
Piers Lane, the pianist, said Mr. Chen's performance had given him an “uncontrollable thrill”. But Cyrus Meher-Homji, the founder of music Eloquence Classics, highly praised: "He (Moye Chen) cannot be defined as just another great pianist in the musical world, he is a true musician with depth and soul, also with great technique, which is perfect."

PERFORMANCES
He has performed with such orchestras as the Mariinsky Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, International Orchestra “Virtuosos of Madrid”, etc.. Moye Chen has worked with internationally acclaimed conductors and performers such as Valery Gergiev, Lorenz Nasturica Herschcowici, Sir Andrew Davis, Tasmin Little and Hung-Kuan Chen. As a soloist in the concert he has played at Carnegie Hall in New York, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Cincinnati Corbett Auditorium, Aronoff Center, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, the Mariinsky Theater, Moscow Conservatory, Brussels Town Hall, Joaquin Rodrigo Auditorium in Madrid, Basel Concert Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, Shanghai Grand Theater, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Sydney Opera House, Hamel Hall in Melbourne, Mariinsky International Piano Festival, Brussels Piano Festival, etc.
His performances have been broadcast by such world-famous radio stations as ABC, SBS, RTBF and WVXU. Shanghai radio has also played his performances many times.

RECORDINGS
As a recording artist of Universal Music, Moye has released his album “Four Worlds” on the legendary Deutsche Grammophon label in 2018. The Daily Telegraph wrote: “This (Four Worlds) is an album which leaves one with the feeling that here is a remarkable talent and the prospect of hearing him perform some of the more substantial works in the repertoire is an exciting one.” The Australian magazine also marveled at the performance: "Could the composer-pianist himself have achieved any better?"; Xinmin Evening News said "taste and nature have always been his (Chen's) goal". The album was awarded the "Best Solo Album" of the 25th Anniversary Award by the Guangzhou AV Fair in 2018.
Other live recordings of Moye Chen were recorded on the album "Encore!", which was published by ABC Classics in 2016.

HONOURS AND AWARDS
Moye is the winner of more than 10 international competitions, such as the prestigious Sydney International Piano Competition, Cincinnati World Piano Competition, International Piano Competition “Spanish Composers”, Berliner International Music Competition, International Iowa Piano Competition and World Piano Teachers Association International Piano Competition, among others. He was awarded the 2017 Center for Musical Excellence (CME) International Performing Arts Grant, the 2015 Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship and the 2014 Feltsman Piano Foundation Scholarship.
Moye Chen is a Kawai Artist.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE
A native of Beijing, China, Moye earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he currently holds the positions of Associate Professor of Piano and Artist in Residence; his Artist Diploma and Doctor of Musical Arts degree were conferred respectively by Oberlin Conservatory of Music and University of Illinois in the US. His principal teachers include Hung-Kuan Chen, Angela Cheng, Robert Hamilton, William Heiles and Xiaosheng Zhao.
